Qualifications for National Awards

 

   National High Point REGIONAL TEAM Annual Awards  (Total Points)

Minimum of 3 rides in member’s region - Maximum of 16 rides will be counted for same horse and same rider’s combine

total points in each Class, in each Division, 1st thru 6th placings.

 

National Special Awards:

 

1.       President’s Cup – (National Sweepstakes Champion - High Point OPEN Horse)

Minimum of 8 rides - Maximum of 16 officially started, with a combination of 4 rides out of state or out of region.

 

2.       Bev Tibbitt’s Grand Champion Award - (High Average OPEN Horse)

Minimum of 8 rides - Maximum of 16 officially started, with a combination of 4 out of state or out of region rides.

 

3.       POLLY BRIDGES MEMORIAL - (High Average Horsemanship - OPEN Rider)

Minimum of 8 rides - Maximum of 16 officially started, with a combination of 2 out of state or out of region rides.

 

4.       JIM MENEFEE MEMORIAL - (Combined Horse & Horsemanship - OPEN Team)

Minimum of 3 rides – Maximum of 16 rides officially started.

 

5.       NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - (OPEN HORSE - Heavyweight & Lightweight)

At least 75 points with a Minimum of 2 first places, or one first and 2 second places.

 

6.       JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - (High Point OPEN HORSE  - Junior)

At least 60 points, with a Minimum of 2 first places, or one first and 2 second places.  Has been awarded 1st or 2nd placing in any two states or regions, or is awarded national placing in High Point Open Horse.

 

7.       OVERALL HIGH POINT OPEN HORSE – (High Point OPEN Horse)  1st thru 6th placing

Minimum of 3 rides – Maximum of 16 rides officially started.

 

8.       OVERALL HIGH POINT OPEN HORSEMANSHIP – (High Point OPEN Rider) 

1st thru 6th placings with Minimum of 3 rides – Maximum of 16 rides officially started.

 

9.       JUNIOR GRAND CHAMPION – (High Average Score - OPEN JUNIOR Horse)

Minimum of 8 rides – Maximum of 16 rides officially started, - with a combination of 2 out of state or out of region rides.

 

10.   JUNIOR HIGH AVERAGE HORSEMANSHIP – (High Average Score-OPEN JUNIOR Rider)

Minimum of 8 rides – Maximum of 16 rides officially started, - with a combination of 2 out of state or out of region rides.

 

11.   OVERALL HIGH AVERAGE COMPETITIVE PLEASURE HORSE ( High Average Score)

Minimum of 6 rides – Maximum of 12 rides officially started.  1st thru 6th place awarded

 

12.   OVERALL HIGH AVERAGE COMPETITIVE PLEASURE HORESMANSHIP

(High Average Score)  Minimum of 6 rides – Maximum of 12 rides officially started.

1st thru 6th place awarded.

 

*       High Averages are predicated on percentage scores versus true averages.

*       The rule books notes an A ride = 1.0 ride, B = 0.5 ride and AA = 1.5 ride
